I remember.......how I changed

As I watch my sister with her first.(she bought a baby wipe warmer…lol…)  I felt I needed to re visit the issue of how I have changed as a mother…lol…..

I laugh as I remember how I was with my first son … I’m thinking about how much I’ve changed as a mother since then to now..  So here is my trip down memory lane…

How I’ve changed as a Mommy…….

Take case in point the nookies or pacifiers..

With my first son I would snatch up a pacifier that fell on the ground and immediately run and boil water to sterilize it. With my second.. I would take a pacifier that fell on the ground..pour some bottled water on it and give it back to him… By the time I had my third I would take the pacifier inspect it for large particles ..wipe it on my pants and put it right back in his mouth…

Baths

With my first son I would would run a tempid bath in a store bought tub that fit in the sink.. I would lay out all of his freshly ironed onesies for afterwards.. My second son I would bathe him directly in sink and have wrinkled onesies pulled straight from the dryer ready.. By the time I had my third son he is bathed with brothers in the large tub and the poor thing gets a diaper and any t-shirt that is in arms distance. If I had a fourth would I be hosing them down with the garden hose like a prison shower????

Food

With my first son I would only give him fresh organic baby food. My second son ate jarred food.. By the time my third came he ate crushed Oreos and smooshed up pot pies..

Yes as I sit and watch my sister I remember….

I bought a wipe warmer with G but I never used it. I think once you get past your first you realize babies aren't quite as delicate as you expect.

Ironed Onsies?? I am glad you geared down..I would have inferiority issues.

I had the joy of a ten pound first baby so I didn't have to worry to much about damaging him. He was half grown!

I was always pretty laidback and relaxed with Riley...if I have a second they'll be mostly fending for themselves! lol

The biggest difference I noticed is that I documented everything with photos of my first. I have hardly any photos of my second when he was a baby!

That's great. Baby #3 is roasting in the oven as I write. Baby #1 had a wipe warmer...I got tired of the darn thing drying out and sold it and the diaper genie in a consignement sale.

I'm right there with you...oh how we change with as our family grows!

I only have one kid, so I can't really relate although I'm sure it happens to everyone with more than one! BTW, I linked to your blog today. I did a sign-type post that's inspired by the many of those that you do!
